Better known by our brand name Panasonic, the company established themselves in the capital of Wales in 1974 to manufacture and supply the television and microwave oven markets across the whole of Europe.
Panasonic (or as it was known then Matsushita Electric Industrial Company) was first attracted to Wales by a number of vital contributing factors. There was the plentiful supply of a suitably qualified workforce, backed up by a number of excellent commercial advantages, such as, the communications network, allowing ease of access to all its European markets, and the availability of a green field site for its base were both important considerations, along with the help and resources of the Welsh Development Agency, Welsh Office and other support agencies.
A huge expansion program over years has seen Panasonic grow to the status of a major contributor to the Welsh economy. New products are continually being launched, packed with advanced features, which give Panasonic the leading edge over its competitors.
